It looks like a cut down German M16 steel helmet. I bought Mark Dillenbeck's Ottoman WWI helmet from him and received it at SOS. I'll post photos later.
This is increasingly common, and part of the problem is that Facebook is slow to crack down on fake accounts. We may be surprised that an image from Kasier's Bunker is on Facebook, but we have to accept that there are still a lot of collectors who have never heard of the site, just as many...

I found it really disappointing. Ridley Scott is a film director, and this subject just has too much material for him to tackle. Napoleon Bonaparte's career would have been better as a mini-series or multi-season series. Hollywood stretched out The Hobbit into three long movies but took the...
It is a tradition of mine to watch the weather. Though not as nice as last year, we should have a pleasant Wednesday move-in with 65 degrees and sun. Thursday will rain, but still in the low 50s on Friday/Saturday. I'll take it.
It is just a straw hat that someone put an Imperial cockade on. Over the years I've seen Imperial cockades on dozens of sun helmets... often U.S. Model 1887/89 helmets, French M31 helmets, and even Italian helmets. Take a $10 cockade and a $200 American helmet and you have a "rare" Imperial...

I think it is a 1970s reproduction helmet with an Edwardian badge and hardware added. The liner type is one that wasn't used in period helmets. Sorry for the bad news.
I would attend but my wife and I are moving to the new house. I'm strapped for cash and I hope to have the movers bring over the big stuff that Friday.
Well, this is my last year in my neighborhood, and we have a lot of children now. Some people go all out for Halloween, and I decided to do a "War of the Dead" display on the lawn. Well, this cost about $20 in uniforms, and I made the machine gun.
It isn't just some cities that are on the decline. It is hitting the 'burbs too.
I lived in New York City for almost two decades. My wife and I saw Hell's Kitchen improve, and we later lived in South Harlem and saw the start of its return. Then we moved to Michigan and I live in the house my...
