Dear colleagues,
please help me
which regiment is this shoulder strap? Thanks
It seems to me like HR4 , but I see traces of the numbers "12".

To avoid opening a new topic. Interesting lace at the bottom of the shoulder strap. Previously, I had only seen one like this on a private soldier's strap in Mike`s Kelso book. But I don`t know what it means. Maybe someone can tell me? Thanks

Thank you very much, Steve! This is the first time I've seen shoulder straps and epaulettes like this. I looked in the book, but I couldn't draw conclusions from the book. An original item is always the best clue. You have very rare shoulder straps and epaulettes! Congratulations!

regards, Reingold

There were several add On's like this
I have not followed them
I am sorry that I can't tell you
Maybe Mike Kelso will get in on this .
It's a complicated color code system
as you see it's cord for enlisted
metalic for officer
here are a few that I have
K R 7 is Telegraph school ; K R 8 I think is riding school
Saxon Infantry pair at bottomInf 3.JPGJzP R 1.JPGMinatures 1.JPGMinatures 2.JPG
I also have a small collection of the miniature straps used
to make up the soldier memory of his service in the framed format
they K R e m 2.JPGwent right down to the T to get these correct

It is difficult subject
Most all of the Infantry epaulettes had red underlay color
Since I like the dragoons, I am trying to find out what was the rule
for the underlay color on the bottom of the Dragoons?
For me, it is confusion. I rule out the epaulettes that have a red color on the top
the bottom color will be red
but I have epaulettes for D R 2 They have Black Velvet top & bottom
D R 12 called crimson red they have the same color top & bottom ** to me almost a purple color
D R 15 same color top & bottom Reos Red a light color
then I have Wurttemberg D R 25 top white ; bottom red
D R 26 yellow top with a red bottom
so what was the rule ?
Maybe Sandman can find out ??
Steve

Thank you for your answers, Steve!

I don't collect epaulettes, I don't even know. I need to read it. As for me, DR12 crimson red - to me almost a purple color too on your epaulettes. On my shoulder strap I saw brown.
Very nice color I had never seen the officer's shoulder straps and epaulettes of the DR12 before.
Im interesting in dragoons too:) ..and hussars..

Thanks to the help of our colleague Steve, I now have a new unique shoulder strap in my collection. It's great that there is this forum where you can always count on the help of colleagues and communicate on your favorite topics, despite the distances.

P.S. It's very bad when sellers take the stars and numbers off their shoulder straps and sell them separately. It is very difficult to find the right numbers and monograms for a particular shoulder strap. It's a miracle that I had similar numbers. I don't have any other numbers.

That is super great
You now have a nice complete and IMO rare D R 12 strap

Here is something that I saw on Facebook this A M
A Medical Probe strap 1918
It has one of the stripes across the bottom similar to the one you asked about
It seems there are a lot of color combinations like this
