Also.... let's not forget the craftsmanship and unique design of the Pickelhaube. The depth of the uniform / helmet industry back then was impressive and often unmatched. That said, I should've found a nice (replica) Garde Adler to affix to my tanker helmet. Damn... another opportunity lost...

Looks good! Put your tongue on it. If it feels like glass, then the clay is vitrified and good. If your tongue 'sticks' to it, it is still porous and might leech moisture out of the liner. Cheers! Ron

Welcome! Nice looking helmet! If you're looking for parts, you might also want to post this in the Pickelhaube and Parts Wanted thread. Also, if you're using the styro wig-head for photoing, that's cool, but for display, those heads are pure poison to helmets, liners, etc. Cheers! Ron
