Steve McFarland

I woke up feeling a bit down about Steve this morning. Like many others, I really appreciated the advice and kindness Steve always shared.

He had a long and fulfilling life.

I’m really hoping his posts with their content stay on the forum forever, so we can always remember Steve and enjoy his collection. He loved sharing, and I find myself looking at the photos again and again.
I sure hope so too, but knowing how Steve was, with all his posts, and above all helping other members, including me when I started collecting haubes, his posts wil be here forever. Steve was truly, as he stated, a Tennessee gentleman. Alway's helpful, and full of knowledge.

My deepest condolences to his family.
His kindness, knowlegde, stories and outstanding collection,…
a great loss to the collecting world.
Hope Steve’s contributions to the forum will never disappear or fade away.

I wondered when he was not responding to the posts of the last month that something was wrong. Very sad news indeed. He helped at that one SOS Show held in July to introduce me to people with much more knowledge in the field than myself. His photographic posts of parts of his collection were awe inspiring.

So very sorry to hear of Steve's passing, a thorough gentleman always willing to help with advice, opinions and the benefit of his long experience. He was and always will be a Sterling asset to this community, where he will long be remembered with affection and respect. My sincere condolences to his family, whose loss is greater than ours.

This breaks my heart, always hate to hear we’ve lost a member, Steve was a great man, very king to me when I joined the forum a year or two ago and loved reading through his threads and comments.

Not a great way to kick off the day, especially it being my birthday of all days. My sincerest condolences to his friends and family, may he rest in peace 😔

Sad to hear. Talked to him at length 2-3 years ago at the sos, had many interesting collecting stories. Glad I got to meet him.
My condolences to his friends and family.
