Pickelhaube I.D.

Hello gents, I'm new to collecting WW1 items and I'd like to find out what I can about this Pickelhaube that I recently acquired, any info much appreciated as I know very little, it's missing a few bits and bobs, like the brass piece at the rea, the chin scales or leather strap, not sure which one it would have had, plus the cockade is missing too. Be grateful if you could tell me why it's a repro, what ID's it as a repro exactly, like I said, I'm totally new to this, many thanks in advance.

Here are some photos for comparison. If you don't know how to tell the difference between an original and a poor copy, always look at the inside of the item.

Welcome and sorry about your helmet. We have all bought a bad piece before. I have some very silly, way less convincing pieces I've bought when I was new to this. Its part of learning and the details are tough to notice. Good thing you asked; now you know.

Hopefully you can get your money back and get a piece that better represents what you'd like. There is a section for selling and items wanted that may be of interest to you.
