Ribbon bar

Hello everyone,
yesterday I was unfortunately able to get this ribbon bar without the medals. But in this size, it is not something I find every day.
I think it will not be cheap if I want to add the missing medals

Best regards
Mike

What a great find, congratulations! A very beautiful bar to a high ranking, important Saxon.

Yes, this will be very expensive to restore it with the missing orders. Especially the St Heinrichs Order, and the Albert Order, and the Hohenzollern Order. The cheapest one will of course be the WW2 War Merit Cross.

This one may be traceable in the Saxon Rank List books.

Best Wishes,

Alan

Hello, thank you very much for the reply. Yes, I think for me and my budget it will probably be hopeless to complete the medal bar. But it would be very interesting to see if someone really can find out who the recipient was based on the lists. Where can I find such lists? Best regards, Mike

There was a collector researcher who has unfortunately passed away a number of years ago, who was on WAF forum. "Rick Research" or "Rickresearch" I believe, was his forum name. I'm not sure if a current member on WAF forum might be able to help ID who the owner of this medal bar was or not. It will take a whole lot of combing thru Rangliste books for Saxony.

Sadly, there appears to be a missing ribbon from this otherwise fine looking medal bar.

You know what all the ribbons are for, on this medal bar, correct?

You can look on eBay Germany, in the WW1 books section to find Rangliste books for Saxony. I don't know if there are currently any available for purchase on that venue or not. It's been a while since I've spent any time on eBay Germany.

Best Wishes,

Alan
