Here is little find I made from my recent trip to France. It’s in rough shape, but I could not leave it where it sat. I am happy to own six of this type as of right now.Photoroom_20260519_184027.jpeg

At least this one isn't a fake made in Ukraine or Poland.

They are so horrible, the Ukraine and polish ones. They are often covered in orange rust and with fantasy decals, with large gaps and the completely wrong flair skirt.

Sadly the inexperienced collectors often trample on these mines, and perhaps they sit in their collections. Until they decide to show them, only to find out they are fake.

Regards Kai

I don't blame you for picking it up, I also have a hard time leaving old warriors behind even when they show serious signs of neglect. (y)(y)
Now the rust has been largely removed and a thin layer of renaissance wax. I tend to not touch any of my helmets, but this one needed it. Last picture shows how it was before.

I think you did a bang-up job Kai it looks much better.

Always good to see an old warrior being saved and proudly displayed. (y)(y)
