Help to identify. Ceremonial helment? Used for honor guard other ceremony

Had this for about 30+ years. Believe could have been used for honor guards or for ceremonial purpose. British or american?

I suspect this could be American. Possibly also Canadian.

Canadian helmets will have the maker's mark stamped on the interior rim. One of the following:

CL/C --- Canadian MotorLamp Company -- Windsor,Ontario,- 1940 – 1943

AG/C --- Aluminium Goods Ltd -- Toronto, Ontario- 1942

GSW --- General Steel Wares -- Toronto,Ontario - 1940 – 1942

I believe it is an American Legion honor guard helmet. They used the helmets post war.i have seen them with and without American Legion insignia.
