WWI Prussian Guard Shako, chin scales

That is incorrect. Period pre war photos show men of Telegraph Battalions and Flieger Battalions in the pre-war uniforms wearing leather chinstraps.

    NEED HELP! saxon m94 pickelhaube!

I agree. Look at the black undersides of the visors. You will never see this on a Army pickelhaube.

    spike base pins

The LG109 helmet plate is a completely different shape, and in white metal. This is a normal baden front plate that has had a reserve cross added to it. This is not uncommon. prussians did it too. Great helmet by the way. Sadly the reserve cross will be really hard to find.

A RARE ONE Furstentum Waldeck Prymont

I don't like it at all. Look at how sloppy the star and the center enameled pieces are. Especially the outer ring. These should be works of art. That star and enamel looks like it was made in someone's basement. It does not even come close to the quality of a normal guard officer. :-P it...

Prussian Guard EM Ersatz Felt Pickelhaube M1915

Tony at kaisers bunker told me before Christmas he was selling a few of his M15s. Don't know if he did or not. I was broke from buying something far too expensive, but I would have been all over that if I could have

My booklet on the history of the Pickelaube

I have been in contact with Tony Schnurr at kaisers bunker many times, and he has always been more than helpful. He has saved me a ton of money by pointing out why I should not buy a pickelhaube. He has outed many parts helmets for me and saved my bacon. I do not think he would be very...

    Pickelhaube ID

If you knew where the Indians bury these things to age them, the last thing you would do is use it for an ice bucket :-P I wouldn't even touch it.

    Your collection's fate?

I think many of you are attached personal connection with a war = interest. I encourage you to go to the Civil War show in Louisville each year and try, just try to buy a cap or tunic. You will be mortified at the prices. I go just to look as I cannot afford a Civil War anything. $50,000 is not...

    Your collection's fate?

Or stolen. I know of several stories where a lot of the rare items were replaced by fakes, or just vanished. I would rather throw my collection in a ditch than give it to some museum just so some summer intern can steal what he wants.

    Bavarian felt pickelhaube M1895

That looks to me like a pre-war liner sewn into a felt Ersatz helmet. Same as the metal parts came out of old stocks. The liners in these were sewn flat-on in a felt helmet and you can see this. Leather hel, mets it is flipped over the edge. The fact that it came from an antique shop like this...

    Info on helmet

That label is one of those hand-held labeler strips. Remember those? You had to punch in letter by letter, and then peel the tape off the back of the plastic label. The good news, is there is a product called Goo-be-Gone which will remove any glue, and that label should slide off. Peel one...
