    The Kaiser’s Prize (Kaiserschiessabzeichen)

What an outstanding display item! Double dated prizes are rare enough but being able to attribute them to a specific regiment is an added bonus. A Hessian regiment makes it even better.

Issued Saxon Model 92 Cavalry Saber

Interesting. I didn't realize that the M92 existed. I would have taken it for a M89. Always something to learn around here. Thanks for sharing.

    saxon officier

The shell has certainly been re-lacquered and not very well either. Too many issues to be explained or glossed over down the road when it comes time to sell it.

    Rare but Rough Piece

What a shame. The helmet is fixable in the right hands but there's nothing that can fix that Wappen and that's where the value lies. It's not Kammer marked so it could be repaired and a Prussian Line Wappen used instead. It would have to go pretty cheap to be worth the effort.

Saxon 1st Leib Grenadier Regiment IR100

Michael: I have a preference for Grenadier/Fusilier helmets. That is a great looking example that you'd be hard pressed to better. Nice to see it again.

Is it possible that both these helmets belonged to the same colonel of the Hanoverian army?

Re. the authenticity of the Prussian Garde OR's helmet: Isn't the motto of the Prussian Gardes 'Suum Cuique" not "Sum Cuique" ?

Great photo work Michael, and a very discerning eye for quality to be sure. Really like that 100th Saxon Grenadiers haube!

    CCJ collection

Beautiful 109th Officer's helmet. In my opinion the most visually appealing Wappen in the Imperial Army, and the officer version is stunning!

    My collection...

Wow! You'd need to be paying attention whenever you passed through a doorway wearing that one. :)

    KR6 Officers helmet

I don't like this I'm sorry to say. The rear neck guard is too angular, It lacks the gentle curve that it should have. The spike tip should be in the same colour as the shell. The Wappen has no bandeau and the space between the eagle's wings and the legs should not be voided. Someone has...

    Model 1867 OR's Unit Markings

I've had this Metalhelm for many years and posted it a while back. I was researching Kurassier helmet markings today and on a whim I decided to remove the Prussian Korarde to see if I could find a stamp of some sort. The helmet to this point showed no markings anywhere. Not even a size stamp...
