Hello Giorgio, Yes, I used to have this helmet. Here it is. This Helmet is an 1867 Foot Troops so the Adler has tangs on the reverse to slide it on. I vote the Adler was not slid down far enough.

Wow! Who needs a Parade Rabatte?? LOOK at that huge top. Probably large enough to serve a small buffet, and heavy enough to kill somebody if you smacked him with it. Well done Francis. That made my day.

Little holes punched in on the wings mean that this eagle has been pinned to a display board. Very common in Europe.

Took them for you this afternoon. Grabbed a Neusilber and brass. It made me contemplate all my Preussen Tschapka…. Do they have those rods? Unfortunately I cannot bring myself to remove them. 100+ years of verdigris stays.

[Edited my stupid comment] I believe the photo below of an exceptional 1842 is one of his that I saved from a thread our forum. I’d like to congratulate him on having an exceptional eye for quality and his photography is outstanding.

Landwehr eagle. The Neusilber Landwehr cross is missing, and an EK miniature has been added. It looks great! Yes not pre-1918 but it is something I would have bought as it’s interesting.

To my eye this is probably an original shell and eagle, other parts as well which has been put together. A refurbished helmet.

Be aware that this helmet has an incorrect Preussen Foot Troops eagle, not the correct Kürassier eagle with straight tail feathers.
