The only way to work these is to cut and transfer patches.
There is the possibility of this being just a pile of trash but I think it would be worth the challenge.
I am still needing someone to accept the shipping.
I could defiantly bid on this unfortunately the guy wont ship to the states.
Can any of you international guys help me out with the shipping ?
Thanks in advance.
Matthew
These helms are beauties .
I have the first book on German steel helmets ( I forgot the German authors name ) and he describes the square dip.
But I never saw what he was talking about
Sorry for my ignorants but makes these a square dip ?
You can shape the rear visor trim quite easily if you can't find an original.
You use a nylon/plastic hammer and tap it on a piece of wood to get the desired shape.
Go easy on the tapping.
I have watched most of the videos.
Everybody almost to a person skips the spikes.
I wish there was an Imperial collector who would make a video on one or any of these shows.
Great piece.
I won one off of ebay a few years back with a tin top.
Unfortunately the tin top was a repo but the rest of the helm is original.
Th Bavarian plate has a blueish tint to it.
