Hi Bruno, What a grouping! Glad to see that you were able to add a M-Schwerin EM helmet to your collection. What about the artillery EM helmet? Is it marked to FAR 60? Philippe

    Prussian Garde Train Berlin

Steve, Yes, some OYV bought some equipment from the Kammer! For example, their Diensthelme which were full normal EM helmets and which were the only helmets which were allowed to be worn during duty in the garrison, gards, parades and manoeuvres in the field. They bought them or could also rent...

Grenadier Regiment 4 Officer Helmet Woodwork Find

Alan, a great find, and seldom because this pattern of helmet was only worn from 1911 on in this unit. I think I can read the first line: 4 Grenadier Reg. (to be confirmed). And a name under this line that I am not able to decypher... Philippe

Enlisted man Fusilier Regt 34 helmet

I can unfortunatly find no active officer with this name at the FR33 in the Ehrenrangliste before the war. As he had the rank of Oberleutnant during the war, he should have had the rank of Leutnant before August 1914... Other possibility: this guy was a reserve officer. In this case, one can...

Enlisted man Fusilier Regt 34 helmet

Steve, Because this helmet ist stamped with FR34, it has beeen first worn at the I or the II B in Stettin. The III/FR34 in Swinemünde did not had this Wappen on the helmets, only the classic line eagle. Then, because this helmet is showing a reserve cross, it moved probably to the Regiment stab...

Enlisted man Fusilier Regt 34 helmet

Here we go 😊 Larcade I, page 153. Quite rare stamp of the II Bezirkskommando Cassel, 44. Infanterie Brigade. Jean Louis Larcade made a big mistake, pretending this helmet was from the 2/ JR44.... This exact helmet was sold beginning of 2023 in french auction. The buyer could find another...

Is it possible that both these helmets belonged to the same colonel of the Hanoverian army?

For my part, I only buy a helmet if I can track the wearer and his military career before I purchase it. Today, there are a lot of possibilities to make such research. Concerning both helmets presented here, I would like to see more picts, but I´m afraid to say, they won´t do the thing better...

Bavarian officers pickelhaube. A 1915 pattern or not ?

Hi, There are so many variations, how the spikes unscrew for officer helmets. To my humble understanding, the pure M15 officer helmets always have rosettes on M91side posts, aside from the detachable spike with grey "button" under it, no matter if screw or bayonet fixation. The bavarian one...

Füsilier-Regiment Königin Viktoria von Schweden (Pommersches) Nr. 34

As this is a Ersatz helmet, the special wappen of these rare regiments were very often replaced by the classic prussian line eagle , for the sake of simplicity. Here is your guy, 5/FR34: https://des.genealogy.net/search/show/171190 Philippe

    Hessen Train Battalion 18

Hi Brian, The unit stamp on the left ist not TB18 but TB25. As Larcade wrote, the hessian TB25 was formed 1890. In the year 1899, the XVIII Armee Korps was created and TB25 joined it. On the 26.03.1901, the TB25 was renamed TB18. As this helmet is a 1900 one, all is perfect here (y) Philippe
