Valid point(s). But I see it differently in the sense that all history should be treated with respect. I would have the same amount of respect for the pyramids of giza as I would for an antique tschapka. If we don't preserve our past, we will forget our future..

I saw this video on Youtube and it's kind of like a German Antiques Roadshow type of show. Its was interesting but hard to watch. The people that bring in the antique Tschapka start man-handling it and they try it on. To me that's careless as it does not take much to mess up a 100+ year old...

Well the 8K is a legit marking (8th Kurassier regiment). I have seen other 2 and 3 digit stampings on kurassier helmets as well. I have no idea what the V.63. is though.

Hello All, Some of you may have seen this one that just sold on Ebay. I was tempted to bid but in the last 2 minutes or so it jumped from $400 to $1700..... :( I was just wondering if anyone knew what model year this helmet was and what unit or division it is (like a regular line...

Well the guy restored a tschapka that some had doubts about, so I'm betting this helmet will turn out pretty good!
