    Interesting piece

It's a shame about its current state and its way beyond me even thinking of is as a project due to both price and condition but maybe someone with serious talent in the resurrecting of long dead Militaria would take a chance. It's one of those rare items you wish you would have found many...

That's really nice, are my eyes playing tricks on me or is that printed paper cloth. Like I mentioned I've never seen it used on a liner before. I've seen it on the underside of shoulder boards, straps on gas mask cans ect... That really looks cool, and I've never seen it printed in color...

I know it was tuff having any kind of Militaria items from WWII but not sure about WWI. Personal experience for me is that part of my family lives outside of Eisenach and was stuck on the wrong side of the wall during the Communist period. My uncle now has a few family pieces from the WWII...

Really cool picture showing a time when attacking Calvary were fading fast. I always like looking at old movie footage of officers getting out of motor cars wearing the old-style uniforms and headgear. Thanks for sharing (y)

    .

I have a collector friend who only collects veteran painted helmets both US and German and regularly pays 1000 bucks for ones in real nice condition. Everyone I get goes to him for first right of refusal for obvious reasons and after seeing and handling a ton of em over the years they are...

    Saumur-France-Musée de la Cavalerie

I'm jealous with the number of beautiful Museums you guys have in western Europe all within driving distance. Before someone complains about a 2 or 3-hour drive please remember here in the states it will take you about 13 hours behind the wheel to get through Texas.
