    Saumur-France-Musée de la Cavalerie

Well, when me and my girlfriend went on holiday, we also used the old routes to go there, never the highway's. Route de la vacances, like an old French musician wrote a song about. Route N7. If she would have lived now, we would be in the Provence, we were planning to start a Bed&Breakfast...

When I first bought some haubes, I was content with them. But then I learned here, that they where put together pieces, and not original. Now, I'm still here, those 2 haubes however are not. You live and learn, you never learn from running away. Everybody makes mistakes sometimes.. Just take the...

    Saumur-France-Musée de la Cavalerie

That would be great Thierry! I only visited the museum in Fort de la Pompelle, in 1992, back when the collection was presented better than it is now.

what am i missing about this

As far as I know, that Prussian kokarde should not be there, as the Feldzeichen already shows which state the Shako is from. For the rest I agree with the comments above mine.

    Finaly

Excellent Kris! I never knew these helmets even excisted. Only the French Adrian helmets, without the front visor, but with a piece of rubber there. Said to be for armoured cars or tanks..

A Hessian helmet, made by an Alsatian in the Reichsland.

A fine helmet Thierry! I have one too, only it's an M15. Also with the correct spikebase, but with a Prussian spike. This one has been here in my collection for a long time, where it will stay too. Was looking for a correct fluted spike for it, but gave up.

    Prussian Grenadier plate

I will, at the end of this month there's a large militaria show here, which I will visit, if I find one, I'll let you know. If I see one on ebay too.

    Prussian Grenadier plate

I agree with the things Thierry wrote, a regular Prussian Line M15 wappen isn't that difficult to find, the removable artillerie ball is more rare. These do show up on ebay sometimes, then again not very often. You have to be quick when you see one for sale.. Then again, I visit ebay everyday...

    M18 Ear cutout

Neither can I. Markings are important regarding any helmet, but with these ear-cutouts even more.

    Prussian Grenadier plate

Eisenbahn regiments also had the Garde/grenadier plate on them, as they were garde muster too. I have one marked to ER2 here in the collection. Also an M15 by the way.

    Prussian Grenadier plate

This M15 has the shadow of a Prussian wappen on it. A regular one, so I do not know if a fieldgrey grenadier wappen would fit the mounting holes for it.

A Hessian helmet, made by an Alsatian in the Reichsland.

Excellent Hesse M15 Thierry! (y) I also have one marked RBA18, but mine has the kreuzblatt, but with a spike on it just like your helmet.

    Baden DR20 Enlisted

That stamp in the liner seems to have the name of a Belgian village, Moerzeke. Maybe there was some sort of theatrical company in that village, then again, I'm not sure.
