Indeed, in Ieper visit the In Flanders Field museum, in Zonnebeke the Memorial Museum Passchendaele1917 ,in the little hamlet of Hooghe, the Hooge Crater museum, there are so many other nice museums to visit, as others before me have added.
I fully agree with you Sandy. It is exactly the reason why I am still a long time member here, a friendly forum where everybody is like a long time friend is, somebody you know for a long time. There are no stupid questions, only stupid answers, but you never see that here. What I do hope, is...
I added 8 postcard booklets to my postcards collection recently.
All are complete, with all postcards still present. All were for sale just after the war.
I just love these reminders of the past.
And yet another very nice reference book came in today!
A picture of some of my reference book collection:
I have more reference books in that cabinet, and even more in a spare room upstairs.
If I ever decide to move to another hous I need some help in moving it all, or rent a lorry I guess..
A nice Baden M15. Clear maker marked, for the rest I agree with Steve and KW11.
In my opinion a nice find, and can be easily changed to original specs.
Welcome here on the forum!
That's great Steve! If he cannot read the description, I'll post another picture which will be more readable for him.
I just posted some pictures of the plates, to show what's in the book.
This book is in my collection for over 30 years now..
Regards, Coert.
I have the 1963 edition of this book in my reference collection. It has a lot of nice plates in it, about wappen, insignias, shoulderboards etc.
A nice book to have in a reference collection, detailed info about weapons and uniforms too.
Some pictures I just took of several pages:
Nowaday's...
Yesterday there was only 1 for sale, but it went fast..
I intended to buy some, to replace my garden fence posts tops with them. There are flat regular tops on then now, so I figured these would look nice...alas..

They have several auctions, besides WW1 also WW2, and more.
I only posted the link to German helmets/headgear WW1.
Regards, Coert.
Yes, normally they should be the larger variant. Then again, it is quite common to find a JzP M15 with the smaller kokarden.
My JzP M15 also has the smaller ones. I agree with Gabe though, the reich kokarde on this one is a repro. I also have my doubt about the chinstrap on it.
All it takes is 2 bidders with a craving for it, combined with loaded wallets, and the bidding war commences.
I bought one in the same condition here on the forum for far less, from a member.
Another video, which came out 18 hours ago on-line, about the Saint-Symphorien cemetery at/near Mons, which contains the graves of the first and last fallen Commonwealth soldiers of the great war @Khukri , you might want to visit it too, when you visit Mons.
