    Untouched m16 camo

Based on these photos it looks like a nice non-regulation camo. Would be nice to see some closeups of the paint and interior to enjoy it a little more.

    Saxon "ersatz" troop helmet

Has a very nice overall appearance. A lovely and rare specimen. Glad you were able to add it to your collection.

Field Grey Painted Imperial Prussian M1915 EM metal Pickelhaube

Two wonderful examples Clovis. I think Pickelhaubes really epitomise the Great War in many ways as they are somewhat of a last link to the pervious century and the next which was fast forwarded by WW1 and the introduction of modernised helmets, equipment, weapons and planes. And thank you for...

    Re-issued M16 NJ62

A favourite from my collection that I have had for around 5 years is this NJ62 produced by the United Nickelworks factory in Schwerte. Judging by the very clean appearance of the liner pads this helmet may potentially have received new pads at the time the brush applied re-paint was carried out...

    M16 TJ68 Camouflaged Steel Helmet

Thanks. The isn’t the best outside right now, so I grabbed a quick snap in the kitchen. Will get a better daylight photo in the next few days.

    M16 TJ68 Camouflaged Steel Helmet

Thanks John. 🙂 Again, one that had poor photos but this time on a dealers site. Looked like it was going to be a nice helmet when examining the images very closely.

    M16 TJ68 Camouflaged Steel Helmet

This one is a sized 68 helmet made by C. Thiel & Soehne, Luebeck. An interesting camo design as it is minus the regulation dividing lines and displays a solid green paint to the left side whilst the green on the right side is interrupted with a straw/golden wave pattern. A liner-less ET60 gives...

    Untouched eBay find.

Thanks Andy! Yes, the photos on eBay are often very poor so I download them and then lighten them so that I can see things more clearly.

    M18 Ear cut out

Hi Dane, Agree the comments above. See how the dips in the original he has posted are in alignment but on the one you are considering has a lower line on the first dip. Shell is likely re-worked from an original size 64 shell. And these should all be stamped ET64. Digger.

    Prussian Regiment 72 Enlisted Pickelhaube

That’s very nice and some interesting information. Thank you for sharing Steve🙂

    Untouched eBay find.

Yes, it’s a little different to the more regular feldgrau but I think the 5th photo is probably more representative of the true colour. I don’t think I have a single steel helmet that isn’t a slightly different colour to the other. Like a lot of eBay photos they were dark and not very good but...

    Untouched eBay find.

Proving that nice untouched helmets can still be found on eBay, is this lovely little untouched M16. With size 62 being the only size of Imperial German Steel helmet that the Gebrueder Gnuechtel A.G., Lauter i./Sa., factory produced during the Great War, the shell is quite distinguishable by its...

    Pickelhaube M15

Chinstrap and liner string aside, the wear and patina on this example all look very commensurate. Has a nice barn/loft find appearance to it which I find quite appealing. Please don’t fall into the trap of feeling like you have to buy something before they all disappear. I know the feeling...
