    Imperial Tellermütze examples

My only example, also Werft Division. Still keeping an eye out for a nice Matrosen piece.

    Fuss Artillerie Find

I just stumbled across a couple of photos of members of the 1st Foot Artillery Regiment "von Linger" in a cache of pictures taken during the war by a member of the 4th Magdeburg Foot Artillery. Maybe my helmet is under one of those Uberzugs??🤔

A M95 artillerie haube is my latest addition.

Here's a couple of photos of the Magdeburg Foot Artillery in action.

A M95 artillerie haube is my latest addition.

Coert: That's a nice addition to your collection. At one time I collected spiked helmets only but I've added two Foot Artillery helmets this year. I think without doubt the most technically demanding branch of the Imperial Army.

    Tellermütze linked to ships

I had a look at this one too. I also thought the top or crown of the Mutze was made from a different material than the rest of the fabric. Although I think it's unlikely that someone has "played" with it. For that kind of money I would want to feel completely comfortable with it which isn't...

    Eickhorn Showroom floor sample sword

Clovis: This is news to me. Not being a blade collector (other than Japanese) this is an area I don't have a lot of reference information on. Good to know.

    Eickhorn Showroom floor sample sword

Ahh. A bit hard to make out but I see it now.

    Pickelhaube M15

I think every Pickelhaube collection has a Prussian Infantry M15 in it at some point. This is a good example. Particularly well marked with a very well preserved interior.

    Eickhorn Showroom floor sample sword

James: It's a good looking sword. Certainly looks like a Kurassier Pallasch. If memory serves the black painted single ring scabbard was instituted in 1906. See "Collecting the Edged Weapons of Imperial Germany Vol 1." p 164, 165. Curious that there's no maker trade marks that I can see.

    Original or repro steins

Clovis: That's a very good summary.

    Fuss Artillerie Find

Philippe: I can understand your confusion. I've noticed that as well. I looked on the Toronto Military Antiques website and it has been removed from the site. I'm guessing he's forgotten about the eBay offering.

    Officer pickelhaube 92Rgt Brunswick

Wow! That;s flirting with 10 Grand Cdn. There's no way I'd be considering buying something as potentially dangerous as this without running it past "those in the know" beforehand.

    Another Lübeck hanseaten kreuz..

Coert: Yet another of the war time issue pieces!! I'm still keeping an eye out for one of these not in a group mount. Mine is the post war variety.

    Fuss Artillerie Find

I have finished the restoration. Most of the work was centred around the re-lacquering of the areas where the original finish had flaked off. The proper 1895 pattern Wappen with the FWR cypher has been added and the badly damaged Kugel has been replaced with a better condition piece with a...

    Reuss Reserve Officers Pickelhaube

Fabulous helmet! It's very frustrating to have the owners tag damaged to the extent that the name isn't visible. So near and yet so far.

Fort de la Pompelle (2024 Marty)

This doesn't surprise me yet, it's hard to believe that the person responsible for curating this collection could allow something like that to happen.

109th Baden Leib Grenadier Regiment O.R.‘s Pickelhaube

Well, that's certainly apparent!! They do look good on the shelf.

109th Baden Leib Grenadier Regiment O.R.‘s Pickelhaube

Ron: I was very lucky. I was playing hockey and as a goalie so you do get some moments where there is no action , which gave me a minute to think and realize something wasn't right. The rink is also 100 yards away from the local hospital. Lucky to have a retired doctor as one of my...

109th Baden Leib Grenadier Regiment O.R.‘s Pickelhaube

I got the 109th helmet from Tony. The Italian collector got the M35 Luftwaffe from me.

109th Baden Leib Grenadier Regiment O.R.‘s Pickelhaube

This is the helmet that motivated me back in August to sell my M35 Luftwaffe re-issue helmet. It was a win-win situation where both an Italian Stalhelm collector and I wound up with items for our collections that we were both thrilled to acquire. The helmet transaction is an amazing story that I...
