    Meklenburg Pickelhaube

Edmund, Let me put it to you this way. If I were in your shoes, I would NOT spend 1 Euro on this helmet. There are all sorts of issues with it as Brian and Bruno have pointed out. I will also add that the interior liner and headband are fakes. Save your money. John

    "Prussian" waffenrock

Will, In my opinion it looks to be a Swedish infantry tunic however the collar is black instead of red. The sleeves look absent of any buttons or cuffs. I can't tell what color that front piping is but if it was red it would be correct and would match the rear red piping. I think the tunic was...

Infantry Regiment 2 Naussauiches Nr. 88 Private Purchase

Here is a very interesting wappen. The standard for bandeau wappen identification has always been that for officer wappens the bandeaus are soldered on and that EM wappens are always of 1 piece stamped construction that included the bandeau. In this case the wappen breaks the general rule and it...

Kurrasier Regt Konigin (Pommersches) Nr. 2 NCO Private Purchase

For reference purposes I am adding my Kurrasier Regt Konigin (Pommersches) Nr. 2 NCO Private Purchase wappen which is of officer quality. Notice the silver solder on the posts. Also note the horizontal scoring on the bandeau letters. I assume this was so the paint adhered better to the wappen.

    Garde Du Corps NCO tunic

Will, Excellent score! Very desirable Waffenrock! You will also need 2 matching silver buttons for the shoulder boards. You are correct in that the "W" stood for Waffen or as you wrote a "Rack" # . Not often encountered on uniform. John

    Need a little help

Welcome Jack. I am very sorry to hear of your friends husbands situation. It is very kind of you to assist them during this very hard time. As stated before the artillery pickelhaube and the waffenrock are to the same regiment. The official title would be the Niedersachsisches Feldartillery...

For sale: Saxon Civil Officer and Prussian Line Officer Pickelhaubes

Absolutely no worries Nieuport! I am glad we got it sorted out beforehand! ;) Of course, Brian. "Scary Canada"? That's just poking a little fun at our wonderful Canadian brethren. A lot of Ebay shippers are scared stiff of sending items to Canada. No clue why... It's actually very easy and you...

    A Tale of Two Pickelhaubes...

Today, I will share with everyone the importance of having as much reference material on our hobby as possible. In one of my earlier Groupings posts I shared with the forum a DR 9 EM helmet and waffenrock. I will share with you a subsequent helmet I have purchased that would also display with...

I am offering the following helmets from my collection: 1) A very nice Saxon Civil Officers Helmet. Silver fittings that has some silver wear in places and the brass is showing through. Manfred von Richtofen, the Red Baron, Interesting compilation of original wartime film footage

Gentlemen, in my opinion this is very interesting film! Pay close attention to the shorter pilot who comes in from out of frame and gets close to MVR then backs away. If I am not mistaken (feel free to correct me) he is wearing a silk visor cap. The give away to me is the bright sheen it's...
