    Yes I love ersatz pichelhaube.

It is obvious that the original attachments have broken and a crude repair has been made with a metal wire. These repairs always raise suspicions in me and I stay away from these contraptions. Zeb

1888 4th VOLUNTEER BATTALION, THE ROYAL SCOTS HOME SERVICE HELMET

Another beautiful example of your remarkable collection. I really like volunteer regiments. I have two in my collection: the 38th Rifle Volunteer's Artist and the Eton Volunteers Rifle Corp which I have already shown in two different threads in this forum. Thanks for sharing. I am always amazed...

    SOS 2025 Weather Forecast

I don't know China. China is a huge country with a thousand-year history. There are many different ethnic groups with particular customs and traditions. Maybe as a first trip I would like to visit the city of Tsingtau in the northeast and maybe drink a cold beer inherited from the German...

1864 PATTERN ROYAL ARTILLERY STAFF OFFICER'S FORAGE CAP

This last one is a beurty. In my opinion the forage cap is the iconic headgear of the victorian period and without wanting to take anything away from all the other wonderful headdresses of the British Empire. Zeb

    Baden felt

In my humble opinion i see a red flag. The grifon badge of Baden is mounted too high above the bottom seem. It could be a reassembly.

Tropenhelm für Generäle, M 1904 Deutsches Kaiserreich (1871-1918)

It is a rare helmet and I have been following it at auction and I could have been interested even if the white band was evidently not contemporary (too new), but even knowing its potential, I would never have expected it to reach the figure of 34,000 euros for auction fees.

Prussian infantry helmet M1867 for enlisted men

Tony, you are right. I made a careful inspection. It is no easy to distinguish because ofthe very heavy ancient patina The spike is silver as the rosettes. Only the chinscales appear to be gilt. In my opinion it's all ok

Prussian infantry helmet M1867 for enlisted men

Dear Steve, The helmet is not attributable only to the 1st garde pionier rgt although I consider it very likely. The white metal finishes (it seems yellowish due to the patina of time) and the round base of the nail can accredit it to the following regiments: 1st garde regiment zu fuss - 1-2 btl...
