Here's a recent find that just came in. A Prussian enlisted ersatz pickelhaube with a ?cork body and tan cloth covering. This one is named inside, underneath the leather sweatband. I can't make out the penciled name. Looks like it might read "127 Fuss........." after the name. I presume the...

Bavarian enlisted Shako with Neusilber trim. Hard to find example!

DHL Stinks, Period! Their service is horrible! I greatly dislike DHL. I have Never, Ever, had a package lost or stolen while in Shipment to Any European Customer since going back in time to the 1990's era. Several of you here have purchased multiple helmets from me with No Problem. Coert is...

Offered for sale is a modern era made Imperial Kreigsflagge. Size is 15" x 23 1/2". It appears to be made of a thicker, modern synthetic material, possibly polyester? It definitely is not made of nylon. I honestly am not certain what the fabric material is, other than I do know it is not...

    Antique store offer

Well, you have an original chinstrap worth at least $300. And you have a pair of original kokardes: (Bavarian & National) that are worth at least $200 or more for the pair. That makes $500 for just those 3-parts. $750 plus tax is a very good deal, in my humble opinion. Best Wishes, Alan

    Antique store offer

I agree with everything Steve has said. The helmet is all original, including the National & Bavarian Kokardes. Chinstrap appears original from what I can see from the photos. As Steve notes, the spike support plate is located under the spike base, on the outside of the helmet. This is...

Hi Max, Thanks for your message and interest in the shako, I appreciate it. The National colors Kokarde will cost anywhere between $75 to $125 to purchase, when you see one for sale on eBay or at a collector show. An original leather chinstrap with neusilber (nickel silver) fittings on it...

Thank you Coert. Can you share with others here that when I have sold you helmets in the past, that you have normally had to pay very little in customs tax for any helmet you have purchased from me. I cannot recall if you ever had to pay nothing upon receiving a helmet from me. I know that...

Bavarian enlisted Shako with Neusilber trim. Hard to find example!

Thank you. Yes, I personally think that $600 is very reasonable for a Bavarian Shako with Neusilber trim. How often has anyone seen one of these for sale? Weitze has had one or two over the years, and they were expensive.
