Bavarian pickelhaube just purchased help with markings

Well, to me a pickelhaube is only original once, later renovations, like another liner might spoil that. But then again, maybe a member here has a good liner in his parts-bin. Some have lots of spare parts in their collections. Regards, Coert.

Very nice helmet! John Josef found that makers name in photo 6, it is visible there. Welcome here by the way! Regards, Coert.

    Help Identifying this Pickelhabue

You are right @CLOVIS 57 , I also saw that spikebase, which was originally for a removable spike. A parts helmet.

    Help Identifying this Pickelhabue

This one seems a pieced together one, on the inside you see that it once had a kreuzblatt, on the outside a round spikebase is fitted. The visor is also not a round one, but square edged. In my opinion a parts helmet. I can be wrong though..

    some Hessians!

What an excellent collection @CLOVIS 57 , I have only 1 Hessen helmet in my collection, an M15, just like the one you have, on the top row, seen from the right, it is like the second one there, on that row. Cross shaped base, but with a Prussian spike on it. I have been looking for ages to find...

And so am I, but looking at Woytek's earlier restorations, it will be spot-on.

    militracks 2026

Then again, there is still the Militaria event in Houten, this 14th of June, I will be visiting that one again. There will be nice WW1 German items there, including pickelhauben.

    militracks 2026

Great photo's! I went to the first Militracks events, I could have bought a Oldenburg M15 there, but it was 750€ back then, and I didn't have enought money on me that day, bought a Prussian M15 instead. I should have known better then... I never saw one for sale after that, at least not for...

    My last purchases

Maybe Phillipe, @argonne could find that out. He is a master in finding registers and records about WW1 soldiers and officers.

    My last purchases

I agree with Tony on this. I also have a nice JzP, a nice one, worn but in full order, it has some nice patina to it. Liner okay, correct original chinstrap, kokarden fine, and most of all, the correct larger spike. It has the "been there" look over it. I prefer the in good condition being ones...

    Prussian ulan tschapka renovation

Well @Naprawiacz , I have a Polish guy working with me at work. He wanted to be a mechanic, just like I am. You would be amazed how quick he learned the job. A bit slow on learning the Dutch language, but he compensates it with his work, and most of all, his attidude. I have several new guy's...

Well, I did mention it was a fake.

Well, when I first started getting a liking for pickelhauben, I bought one just like it, a fake. Decades ago, but it was only 95 €, in today's money. Later on, when I got more, and more into the subject of collecting the real ones, I just gave it to a friend of mine. But at the time, I knew it...

    Helmet Garde Cuirassier 3 Eskadron

Okay, was it a problem somehow with the former buyer? Anyway, I am on it again.. I thought a bidding war was all that was happening with the first listing on Ebay.
