You can shape the rear visor trim quite easily if you can't find an original. You use a nylon/plastic hammer and tap it on a piece of wood to get the desired shape. Go easy on the tapping.

I have not seen any. Unless they were made of canvas over cork.

The chinstrap has the double-tongued scales throughout. It should alternate 2 tongues then 3 and so on.

I have watched most of the videos. Everybody almost to a person skips the spikes. I wish there was an Imperial collector who would make a video on one or any of these shows.

Great piece. I won one off of ebay a few years back with a tin top. Unfortunately the tin top was a repo but the rest of the helm is original. Th Bavarian plate has a blueish tint to it.

I love this little helm! If things weren't so tight now I would jump on it !!!

You see so many Bond sale Uhlans without the stars which make me think that they were not issued with the star. I have a star on mine but i was lucky to find one on Germany ebay but it is the standard sized star for the m-15 gray Garde plate and it looks fine.
