The actual helmet looks good to me. That is a WWII German helmet liner that came out in the early 1930s after the m-18s. Who ever has sewn it in has done a great job , but it should not be on this felt. The support disc may be original but it certainly has been repainted. It kind of looks ground...

I have sought these for years and have a few posts on restoring them in the restoration category. I have been lucky finding ( basket cases ) on this forum.

The gunner has the eyes and face of a killer. I would speculate that he was good at his trade.

I agree with the others very nice. Unusual that it has a black liner . Most that I have seen have a natural tan/brown liner with thin leather.
