    A small Polizei Tschako

Gents, This is a small example of the Prussian Police Tschako worn by the German Sicherheitspolizei and Schutzpolizei in the 1920s. It is made of stiff black material and has a metal police star front plate (with 1921 date) and a metal cockade on top. The front cockade has the black/white...

    Italian Royal Army in WW1

I love these identified groupings. They really speak to a collector/researcher and tell the story of the original owner. Good work and congratulations.

    Swords of the Totenkopf Regiments

Wonderful Totenkopf swords and beautifully displayed. You need to drop by my house with your woodworking tools. Nicely done and thanks for showing!

    My Bayonets

Bayonets can become addictive Hayden. You have a good start. A few of my variations.

    Italian Royal Army in WW1

A nice pistol! I love pistols from this time period. Excellent machine work and complicated designs as new features were put into place and tried out. I guess "value added" features would be the current speech.

police spike helmets in use at the front

Excellent verifiable information! Thanks for your research.

    Italian Royal Army in WW1

I like them. How about an Italian Naval Officer sword with accouterments?

    Question Pickelhaube

Yes, the first style of plate without the commemorative banner would be the one worn on the first helmet shown in this thread. Assuming it is not a replacement, and is the original plate, the form on the helmet is correct for the Berlin Police of that time period.

    Little fleamarket finding

I have the Zittau Polizei Pickelhaube and here is a view of it. Nice Saxon LG pistol that goes along well with my helmet.

A nice nickeled Bavarian sword. I like it!

    Napoleon movie

I too was disappointed. I felt the acting was not up to par along with the story plot.

A Variation Bavarian Infantry Officer Sword

Thank you all for the likes and kudos. I should also say that this style of Bavarian Portepee with the strap entering the stem is proper for Infantry Officers. The same blue and silver Portepee with a strap attached to the stem with a wire loop is the proper one for mounted Officers in the...

A Variation Bavarian Infantry Officer Sword

Gents, I thought I would show a variation Bavarian Infantry Officer sword that I picked up at the Leavenworth Militaria show last weekend. It is a very nice example of a wartime iron hilt Infantry Officer Sword that has a black finished iron hilt instead of the normally seen brass hilt. These...

    A Hausmutze Question

Thanks for looking and liking. Since the Police nomenclature for this cap is a Hausmutze (House Cap) I have difficulty believing the Army calls this a "Field Cap" as it was listed. Even though the cap was used for fatigue and training duty I think "Field Cap" is most likely collector terminology.

    A Hausmutze Question

I just picked up this Hausmutze that was advertised as a, " 'WEIMAR RECHSWEHR 1919 FIELD CAP "CRUSHER CAP'. Very nice condition green wool body 'crusher' hat. Some moth tracking and a couple of 1/16" holes but nothing bad. Inside shows some light soiling from wear and has a Berlin clothing depot...

    Police helmets and headgear.

Nice! I really like the fluted spike and the plain leather chin strap. Congratulations. It is sometimes feast or famine with me too.

    Police helmets and headgear.

Thank you. This style of cap is shown as a "Klappmutze" as opposed to a stiff saddle shape "Shirmmutze" or a round "Tellerform" peaked cap or an earlier style "Steife Dienstmutze." At any rate a regulation style cap that remained in wear.

    Police helmets and headgear.

Yes, an excellent example of the refurbishment and re-issue of helmets (and equipment). Since the title of this thread is "Police helmets and headgear" I thought I would add this police cap showing some changes over a long period of use and wear. This Bavarian Gendarmerie peaked cap would...
