Need help identifying if this pickelhaube is real

Unfortunately it’s not original. Instead, it appears to be an Indian made “reproduction” that has been dressed up to look old. Painting the wappen green seems to be a common practice by that seller, this is the second one I’ve seen like this (the first one was purchased by someone!). Stay away...

A question about this guards Stahlhelm

    Purchasing my first Pickelhaube

Jean Louis Larcade’s “Casques A Pointe” books are very good, I’d definitely recommend those! I’m sure other members can recommend their favorites as well.

    Purchasing my first Pickelhaube

Hey! I'm glad to see you were able to find the forum! The r/militariacollecting subreddit isn't really the best place to ask for advice on pickelhauben (several months ago they were gawking at an Indian made lobster tail helmet), so I always try to redirect people to this forum. If you have any...

My Latest Find - Bavarian M1845/48 Raupenhelm Shell

Got it! The one age of kings is offering has a single screw and a wire soldered above it, so I’m guessing that would make it an M1868 rather than an M1845/48.

My Latest Find - Bavarian M1845/48 Raupenhelm Shell

Awesome! I also noticed that age of kings has a raupenhelm strap for sale. Since you've worked on both M1845/48 and M1868 raupenhelme, do you know whether there is any significant difference between the chinstraps on each model, or are they identical?

My Latest Find - Bavarian M1845/48 Raupenhelm Shell

I recently stumbled upon this Bavarian M1845/48 Raupenhelm shell while browsing eBay, and after talking to the seller and negotiating a lower price, I pulled the trigger on it! It's in rough shape, but I really enjoy restoring helmets, so I think this will be a fun project that should keep me...

I believe it's seal fur. The same material used for hussar busbies/pelzmutzen

    French helmets

It seems these helmets have been scoring well with women since the day they came into fashion lol!

Poor picture taking is a waste of everybody's time...(NOT SATIRE)

I agree with the previous statement! With all those photos cropped into odd proportions, there is no doubt that the seller is trying to hide something. Maybe he’s hoping that taking close ups of the grime around the rivets will be enough to convince someone that he’s selling the real deal 😂

Prussian infantry helmet M1867 for enlisted men

Great catch, Sandy! Love the look of these older models

    General Charles-Arthur Maitrots Adrian helmet

I don’t know much about WWI French militaria, so I can’t comment on the item’s authenticity, but I wouldn’t necessarily label this as a scam attempt. Horse Soldier, the vendor who sold this helmet, is probably one of the most reputable and knowledgeable dealers when it comes to US Civil War...

    Italian Royal Army in WW1

Your headgear collection is top-tier! This may be a stupid question, but have you ever stumbled upon a WWI Carabinieri bicorne for sale before? I recently saw some photos of Carabinieri troops in the field, and I was wondering if any of their hats found their way onto the market.

    Tragedy

Rats! I’d to bid as well, I’ve been looking for some filzhelms to restore for a while but I guess I’ll have to keep waiting… Let us know if any of ya’ll win, (after finding someone to facilitate the sale of course) I doubt I’d be able to outbid anyone on this forum 😅

Can anyone help identify this, please?

Is that supposed to be Saint George slaying the dragon? If so, it might be British related.
