MODEL 1915 ENLISTED MAN GREY METAL PICKELHAUBE FOR SALE

Hi Amy! Is this still available? I know someone who is in the market for a Prussian M15 like this. Edit: Nevermind! He said he's looking for something in better condition.

    !Stunning! Book on Russian headgear

As a guy who loves making historically accurate hats, I really appreciate these “exploded” views. Maybe I’ll try to make my own reproduction some day using a page from this book lol!

    Unfortunate news…

I'm sorry to hear that, Dane. I can't even begin to imagine how hard it was to be told such a thing. As James said, we're all here to support you!

    Identification / Authentication Necessary

Glad you found the forum! I agree with Amy and Steve, it’s an original Prussian model 1895 enlisted pickelhaube.

    !Stunning! Book on Russian headgear

That's unfortunate. Looks like we'll have to send someone on an expedition to Russia to bring us back a copy! 😂

This is cool! I've seen pages of this book floating around the internet, but I never knew what the book's title was.

    Saxon Uhlan in Feldgrau

Not just helmets! I’m pretty sure they were caught selling coffin back nazi party member pins in the past.

    Saxon Uhlan in Feldgrau

Yep, this is a snapshot from one of their newsletter emails. Funnily enough, I don't remember ever signing up for the newsletter as I can't afford about 90% of the items they offer 😂

Wishing all our US members and their families a happy Thanksgiving! Now here is a photo of some US soldiers enjoying a Thanksgiving meal at the end of WWI: Edit: Looks like I posted this in the wrong forum section lol!

    A Police M1916-17 Steel Helmet

I suggest you post this to the German Helmet Walhalla. Their primary focus is WWII German headgear, so I think they’ll be able to help. The only problem about that forum though is that you have to become a paying member in order to upload a collection of photos.

    Small purchase at Ciney

I've been wanting to attend the SOS for a while now! But I'll need a good chunk of cash before I can make that trip a reality haha

    Small purchase at Ciney

Right, there is a lot of unexploded ordinance in the ground and people could get seriously hurt. I know a while back a bunch of metal detectors were arrested for trying to search the Verdun battlefield, and some guys in England were arrested for illegally excavating and selling medieval relics...

    Small purchase at Ciney

This is true. National Parks and Historic Battlefields. When guys want Gettysburg related artifacts, they usually get permission to metal detect on private land surrounding the battlefield.

    Small purchase at Ciney

That is so cool! Were you able to keep it? I know civil war metal detectors here in the US are usually able to keep their finds.

    Small purchase at Ciney

What’s the problem with Ciney? I’m in the US so I’m not too familiar with the collecting scene in Europe. Is it just crowded? No good items for the Imperial German collector?

Well, as they say, good things come with patience! I think you've seen it before, but I have an M15 that I'm working on, and it has a patch of dried up and hardened shellac that needs to be covered. If you have the time, I'd like to PM you with some photos of the helmet and get some advice from...
