    Great helmet Coert. The best helmets are those that show a bit of character! I’ve personally never cared much about acquiring mint steel helmets.

    Do you have any recommendations for books on swords and buttons? I’m currently only collecting Napoleonic buttons, but I am looking to move into swords soon. I think I’ll start with the common sabre briquet, but I hope to acquire some higher-end specimens like a dragoon sword later on.

    Very cool! So it is partially original to the Napoleonic period! That is about as close you can get to owning an original without breaking into the French Army Museum’s display cases 😂

    It is true that original shakos from the period are almost impossible to come by, which is why I’m hesitant to refer to it as a true Napoleonic shako just yet. After all there are shakos made for Napoleon’s funeral procession and centennial reproductions are all floating around on the market...
