There was a shortage of helmets, but the US army found an unused stock to bring home…strange. Perhaps these helmets were finished while the steel helmet made them obsolete.

Thanks :),Yes the owner took good care of it , not a single ding, and these helmets are lightweights, it's easy to get a dent.

I never found Saxons particularly hard to find. Maybe when you are focused on it, it may seem harder.

Today I visited a collector who lives one mile from the Waterloo site where Napoleon got his ass kicked in 1815 .The pickelhaube was not yet invented.
