I recently purchased a complete (besides the wappen) M1895 that at somepoint someone had painted all the brass hardware grey. What would be the best way to remove paint from the brass without damaging the brass hardware.

I bought this picklehaube fairly cheap, initially I was gonna dismantle it for parts. Then I thought this would be a wonderful way to practice restoring this helmet to see if I can bring her back to life. I'm not sure why the Bavarian m1914 officers wappen was bolted onto the enlisted m1895.But...

The sticker still retains the handwritten size of the helmet 58 1/2 cm

This one came to me in quite rough condition but all parts were included and the price was most certainly right. This was the project that really made me enjoy repairing these helmets. Let me know what yall think of the repair.:)

I picked up this ersatz M15 for $340. The chinstrap is def a repro however. I love the look of these things and I'm excited to have finnaly placed one into my collection.
