Typically, these have gold-colored handles and curved blades, but they were available in silver. This one was made by WKC. The blade is not terribly fancy but the detail work in the handle and guard is impressive. Sold by a vendor in Hannover...maybe it was carried by an officer of the 13th...

Are there any markings on the 2 pieces? You may have the same issue I have, where the 2 pieces don't match. On mine, the front plate has Prussian stamps and the back plate has French

Yes, they are too short. This is because the back piece is from an older captured French model 1814 and the front is a Prussian model 1845. The placement of the studs to attach the straps was different for the 2 models. On the 1814 they were higher up so the straps were a bit shorter.
