I checked both my relatively new ASUS and my older Dell Inspiron laptops and neither has a slot big enough to accept the photo card from my very old Nikon Coolpix camera.

Sword Collection: Austro-Hungarian saber $200 and Kinder Sabel (Child's saber) $120, WW1 German saber $140, more will be added shortly

Right now I'm not able to download any photos from my little junk camera to my laptop, as one of the dogs chewed on the cord that goes from the camera to my computer. So I have to see about getting another cable. Or get a new, hopefully better, camera that is simple enough for an old...

Sword Collection: Austro-Hungarian saber $200 and Kinder Sabel (Child's saber) $120, WW1 German saber $140, more will be added shortly

Gustaf, I'll box it up and run it by the post office to find out what shipping is next time I go into town. I can't take PayPal - the thieving, anti-2nd Amendment, freedom hating, Marxist bandits terminated my PayPal account and banned me for "violation of terms of service" years ago after...

Relic grade Austro-Hungarian fencing saber. Back in the mid-1970's I had a little antique business and got a lot of stuff through my girlfriend's father, who was an antique importer wholesaler and was bringing in container loads of antiques from Europe, especially Austria. This saber was...

WW2 German Jaeger Leutnant jacket and Foresty Officer's great coat

Forestry Officer's Greatcoat Both shoulder boards were in the inside pocket when I got this coat. It does not appear that the shoulder boards were ever attached, so this is probably an unissued item. The button for the right shoulder board is missing - "At The Front" has some original German...

WW1 Prussian steel belt buckle - it it original?

I picked it up over 40 years ago at a gunshow, for the princely sum of $5. So if it isn't an original, I didn't lose anything on the deal. If it is an original, I'll display it with other Imperial German and Austrian items I've collected over the years. If it's a reproduction/fake, I'll...

Miniature Prussian Pickelhaube made from heavy metal. Desk Ornament?

Interesting..... a paperweight, perhaps? I remember seeing photos years ago of a minature helmet like this that was an inkwell.

Austrian medals - information/identification appreciated, I need correct ribbons for at least a couple

Here is my small collection of Imperial Austrian medals. I'm thinking of assembling a little display with these and Imperial German medals arranged around an Imperial Austrian Eagle wappen plate I posted up in another section of this site. Any information on these would be appreciated I...

    Austrian Wappen

Something I acquired many years ago. About 3 1/2 inches high and 3 inches wide. I'll probably use it as the centerpiece of a little display of Imperial German and Austrian medals. What type of headgear or other item would this have originally been used on?

Help needed identifying old saber scabbards

Thanks! It does indeed fit the Austro-Hungarian sword, as well as a German made U.S. Civil War Light Cavalry saber and a pre-WW2 Czechoslovakian saber I have, all of which need scabbards. I was hoping that it would be correct for one of them.

WW1 era Prussian spiked helmet, dated 1907 (SOLD)

I picked this up at an Antique, Militaria, and Collector's show in Munich, Germany, in 1971. Other than as noted (sadly) below, it is exactly as I got it. Marked on the inside with various ink stamps including 1907 dated one, and a stamped in the leather marking with what looks like B.J.A...

Help needed identifying old saber scabbards

These are some things I picked up long ago in case I ever encountered a saber in need of a scabbard that one of these fit and was correct for. I'm pretty sure the top one is Imperial German, it is about identical to the one on an Imperial German saber I have. The middle one I believe is for...

Sword Collection: Austro-Hungarian saber $200 and Kinder Sabel (Child's saber) $120, WW1 German saber $140, more will be added shortly

THE KINDER SABEL: This is something I picked up at an antique and collector's market in Munich, Germany, in the winter of 1995. It appealed to my love of historical militaria and antique toys, and military themed antique toys. But I'm downsizing my collection of things I've acquired (some...

Information sought on Solingen and Budapest marked sabre.

I picked this one up back in the early 1980's, don't remember exactly where. I do not have the scabbard for it. The miniature "Kinder Sabel" child's version shown in the photo with it, I picked at an antique and collector's market in Munich, Germany, in the winter of 1995. The little child...

Kinder Sabel and comparison with full size one. Information, comments, value estimates sought.

I picked the Kinder Sabel up at an antique faire in Munich, Germany, in the winter of 1995. The full size one is something I picked up, I no longer recall exactly where, back in the 1980's. The little child sword is definitely patterned after the design of the real sword, which seems to...
