    Looks like the regiment number was crossed out, looks to me like some kind of roman numerals, is this how they were usually marked with roman numerals?

    Ahhhh, that makes a lot of sense. That would probably explain the 2 inspections marks on the spine of the blade, just like the one shown here but on mine it's a crown over s instead of crown over R. I'll work on some pics. The regiment marking on scabbard is R.H.3.68, any ideas of what that is...

    If these came out in 92, why is the one shown above marked 85? I just picked one up and it's marked 89. So how can the sword be issued before it came out? What am I missing here?
