although this is pickelhaubes as a website as stated before I do also collect other WW1 items and nations.
as I really like the enormous variety in nations, types, colors and designs I don't stick to german headgear alone.
Yesterday I received this glengarry hat of an officer of the KOSB ,
I searched the internet before purchase; it seems correct with the leather trimming of the inferior border typical voor WW1 ear, and the correct pattern of red white and blue squares, furthermore the badge seems te bo correct for an officer KOSB , a similar one is shown on the website the imperial war museum.
it is accompanied by a photo presumably showing the owner (according to the website of the dealer).
is is said to be: Jack Robinson of the King’s Own Scottish Borderers
(maybe later on I will try to check whether this attribution is correct / possible)
For a long time this typical scottish hat with its checkered pattern was on my wishlist, hope you like it , I also send a photo of some of the showcases of my collection to show some of the variety, for instance the corner with KUK caps including the one I purchased from brian Calkins a forum member a few months ago (fieldgrey KUK cap with oak leaf ).
In other showcases are russian, french, belgian, dutch etc items (as well as german of course),
