Hi could you give advice on this lobster tail, I believe the spike and the cockades are not the right type? I think the chin strap is repro.

Would it be worth polishing/removing the surface rust? If so what’s best to use?

Usually the spike should be the more cylindrical type and the kockades should be larger...

If you polish it too much you will lose the nickel coating...

I see the cockade size and the spike difference. Those do look good
