M1850 Hannover helm

Congrats Amy another rare bird (horse in this case) in your collection.
The Hannover's infantry adopted the spike helmet in 1849. This M.1849 is ispired by the prussian M.1843.
In my humble opinion some details are wrong:
Hannover's kingdom only fitted round head screws, not star screws.
Never seen the rounded arms of the cruciform base on hannoverian old helmets.

Right on Amy! Really one of the most dramatic helmets of any military unit ever. Eventually King George V sided with Austria and the Hanoverian army was issued an Austrian-style shako that never compared to the effect that this amazing helmet conveyed.

I have to drop in here.😃

Sure, the Hanover helmet M 1849 is really great, but the Hanover shakos M 1860 have also some appeal.

Just remember in 1866 the Hanover party was over…. only few years in which the shakos were in service.

Best wishes
