M1850 Zündnadelgewehr Patronentaschen

I finally decided to organize my collection of M1850 ammo pouches and document dates, unit markings, and manufacturer marks. The dates are from 1850 to 1876.

Many of these pouches came from a farmer in upstate NY who bought they from Bannermans in 1962. The Imperial German Army sold their surplus field gear to Bannermans in the 1890s. Which is why they are extremely rare in Germany.

I have quite a few of the Zündnadelgewehr variants, and bayonets with scabbards, and a couple of the very rare M1847 belts with frogs.

I found some older photos I took of my M1847 black belt ensemble.

In 1874, after the introduction of the Mauser 71 rifle, new belts and pouches were developed. I have examples of those as well. The belt is also rare and mine is dated 1879.
