musée de la grande guerre: beautiful museum and two nice reference books

in the last Christmas holliday I visited the " musee de la grande guerre" in Meaux, near Paris, location of the battles of the marne in 1914 and 1918.
It is listed as the biggest WW1 museum in Europe, and it is very much worthwhile visiting.

It has a beautiful collection (with a fantastic display of 50+ mannequins in uniforms), of authentic uniforms and vehicles, tanks, weapons, posters etc,
there is a rebuild trench, and they made two reference books on the opposing armies (there are much more uniforms in the museum than depicted in the books) , I visited it with my son, soms photo's as an illustration.
(also visited with my son fort Liezele the most intact Fortress of Antwerp WW1 period, and Villa Hartenstein near Arnhem (headquarters of the British Paratroopers in operation market garden), so busy period touristic last weeks),

Your son looks like he is really enjoying it

Reminds me of myself as a young boy, my father and my uncles used to let me, and my brother wear original WWII uniforms and equipment to play Army.

We both to this day share a love for all things Military and Militaria unfortunately or fortunately I was the one only one who has the collector gene.
