The man looks very much like Nikita Khrushchev, Premier of Soviet Union...

I agree, albeit a bit thinner in the face than I would expect. Looks like Jackie Kennedy alongside, so clearly a VIP.

That's true. There are many photos of this gala in Vienna online, but he didn't sign the photo. It must be one of the names in the text. Maybe someone recognizes it. I really like the photo, even though it has nothing to do with the forum.
