Sometimes I wonder what people have in their heads? The canopy riveted,and the rest of the repairs were done with polyurethane foam.Sometimes it takes more time to remove the repairs of previous owners.
You are 100% right, but it takes a lot of effort.There are many surprises for the pickelhaube restorer!
Riveting was not of the era.This is a contemporary repair.Why bother sewing the fabric?Is it possible that those rivets were a period repair ?
Yes Sandy,I use a paint brush, which is visible in the photo with a jar of diluted shellac.Have a great day.Nicely done Wojtek. Do you use a brush to apply the lacquer?
