Gents:
A nice pre-1890 Prussian dragoon officer's spike I picked up. Everything was complete and proper with a single cockade. However, to my mind we never resolved to my satisfaction as to when (or if) the single-banded what is called the "NCO cockade" was ever used as an officer cockade.
