It is all in how you look at it, if you need the parts etc.

That is a nice big pre-1914 Wappen. For us Wappen guys, I would pay more than 1 cent. Then the leather sweatband, silk skull cap, Bayern Kokarden, spike and base, rear spine.... oh yes. This is a little mine waiting to be mined for parts.

The one mentioned above has a crack in the base, but it's not scrap metal.

That M15 Prussian may have vulcanfibre pieces on it, too.
 
Yes you are all right. Its indeed how you look at it. These helmets may still have execllent parts for restoration etc., and in that case it may actually be a good deal.

Yeah, good for parts... I guess parts helmets cost the same as mint officer's helmets years ago, but that's the way it goes!
