My my. Is that ever frosty! very very unusual to find an officer's helmet that still retains the polished guilding on the spike base and chinscales, those are almost always faded out. Especially beautiful Wappen with the semi-matt guilding, with polished highlights to match the rest of the polished fittings. Congratulations Dave.

What superb condition! Do you have any provenance on this helmet? How was it preserved so well for 100 years? I suspect that it must have been kept in its case and rarely handled over all that time.

No providence, but it did come with a carrying case and a field cover. I presume that had a lot to do with the condition...
