WW1 Australian Slouch hat and tunic

Chaps,

These may well be the best examples of their kind you will ever see. A mint condition, probably unissued Australian WW1 tunic dated 1918, and a superb named and dated WW1 Australian slouch hat. Both items are extremely rare, very few survived the war, the depression, the neglect, the other war, and more neglect. Anecdotally, the troops wore the tunics and slouch hats through the depression, and often cut up the felt hats to make tap washers. Makes me want to cry. Very rare, very much in demand and very expensive.

Positively superb stuff, Mike. You've been extremely fortunate in acquiring these. Will the tunic remain "as is," or will you augment it with the appropriate badges and insignia?

I think you have to many slouch hat's in one area so to help protect them you should send some to e for safe keeping. just a suggestion.
Nice tunic.
