Complete wound badge set!

Howdy all! Hope y’all are well!

I have finally completed another goal of mine, one I’ve had since I started this hobby!

I’ve hunted tirelessly for all three of these badges, first starting with the black wound badge, then finding a silver but I then hit a stopping point. The gold badge.

I waited many years to find a solid example from a trust worthy seller, at a good price, that still had most or all of its Gold on it. Finally I can say that one of my long time goals as a collector has been completed!

I’ve always wanted to have all three, they are some of my favorite badges of the imperial era!

I’ve considered embarking on the journey to find their naval siblings but I feel that for now I would like to soak in this achievement!

Really happy to share this with you all!

All the best, Dane Jensen

Very nice to have the set completed! I also have them complete now, but like you, it took quite a while to get the gold one.

Congratulations Dane! 👍

Nice! Now you need the “cutout” version!

Nice! Nice! Nice! As Doug B said, now to the cut-out versions. Then the navy. Then the screw back version. If you want to go further, look at the multitude of helmet configurations on the black badges. Nice collection goals!

It's nice to see you have the complete set and all in good condition too.

As mentioned completing the set for the Navy would be considerable harder but doable. I've only found one so far and it's the black version and the easiest to find. I can't say that it's a priority for me.

Agree. Like Dane, I got the basic set first. Then I got the cut outs then started on the Navy examples but gave up after purchasing the black Navy badge and not finding silver/gold examples! So just moved on to slowly building out my small imperial Enameled awards LoL

Dan: great job!

In fact, I just purchased another gold wound badge, for only 35€. I got lucky on our national vending site. (Marktplaats)
Not that I need it, as I have the set already complete. Just like that second Lubeck hanseatenkreuz, I just cannot let them pass me by...

You are not alone I know many collectors who buy items that are in very poor condition when compared to what they already in their collections just because they can't pass on a good deal.
