Thank you very much for posting this helmet.Today I'm showing you another old comrade I'm temporarily guarding.
It's a model 1853 helmet from the city militia, the so-called "Burgerwehr".
Despite its 175 years, the old man still looks sprightly and in pristine condition.

Wonderful cavalry helm, in very good condition. Terrific the super elaborated officers' metal chin-strap.Thank you very much for posting this helmet.
The Bavarian Bürgerwehr is unfortunately underestimated. As far as I remember this is the first post referring to these units. I’d like to share my helmet which is an officer of the cavalry. I bought it in 1988 from Kube in his former shop in Munich not really knowing what I was buying….
Best wishes,
GardeUlan
Very nice helmet!!! From what I can see it’s green and therefore Jäger, but I can be wrong. And now a M1845/48 reserve helm fur a Jager or artillerie.
Plume appears to be green which would be Jager but brass side supporrts make it artillery.
Maybe wrong plume? Maybe faded plume? Artillerie wear red carrot plume.View attachment 65353
