We just finished our long planned trip to the East [of Germany], better not postponing...so we decided to go for it.

-first stop the Waldeck-Pyrmont Residenzschloß at Bad-Arolsen.
Guided tour. Except for the Waffenkammer/Weapons room where we had plenty of time.

next day:
-a brief stop at the Völkerschlachtdenkmal and the excellent Forum 1813 Museum in Leipzig.
Continuing to Dresden.
Following day:
Wehrhistorisches Museum der Bundeswehr Dresden.
-modern concept Museum. No light. Ok...understand...but impossible to recognize details. But still a must visit..
The next day,
-the hammer was Schloß Moritzburg, impressive Jagdschloß of the Saxon monarchs.
Me remembering the incredible story of the "Wettiner Schatz/Tressure" found in the Moritzburg forest in 1996....and in 1998.
On the way home:
-Bad Wildungen. Near Kassel. Schloß Friedrichstein.
Great guided tour.
The guide was not into military history. So lucky me...we had the had the 7 exhibition rooms for ourselves...
Enabling me to put together my own Collection Catalogue.
-unbelievable that nobody ever ever took the initiative to do so...

Ok.
Glad that I shared the pictures.
My pleasure.
Francis

And now...for planning the 2026 Museum trip....
taking plenty of time to revisit the places we did in 2024.
Deutschland and France:
A non-exclusive list...

-Ingolstadt
-Fort de la Pompelle
-Novion-Porcien
