20th Württemberg Ulan Tschapka to Parade

Officers’s Tschapka of Ulanen-Regiment König Wilhelm I (2. Württembergisches) Nr.20, with parade busche and rabatte.

Very good condition Tschapka, with excellent and rare parade fittings. No extra holes, officer brown silk liner (with signs of wear, and evidence our guy favored hair pomade) and sweatband. Silver Württemberg Ulan wappen attached with three screw posts. Beautiful feldzeichen in red/black/silver. Excellent (and heavy) fangschnur helmet cords with the distinctive red/black details unique to the two Württemberg Ulan regiments. Near-mint parade rabatte for UR20, also with the distinctive red/black ticking throughout. White/red/black officer parade busch.

Note: The rabatte was sourced separately from the helmet, and fits perfectly to the mortarboard (a minor miracle) but is tight near the base, and I’ve never had the courage to force it shut. When wrapped in the fangschnur, the gap is invisible of course. A beautiful Ulan ensemble.

Very nice helmet
and super rare with all the correct parade parts!
Steve

very nice complete helmet unfortunately it is far away and in Belgium it is the import and the tax that makes it difficult

Nice Tschapka, Jeff. On the picture of the inside, the third screw closer to the mortarboard is another plate attachment, as you wrote. I have never seen something like this.

Thanks Bruno. Yes, it's unusual - I've only seen it on the more delicate plates, like the very occasional Württemberg. Hessians can be weird that way too (so many pierced parts of the plate I guess?). I've seen at least a few with three to four screw posts.

Difficult to find an officer uhlan helmet of wurttemberg with all accessories!
i was looking unsuccessfully for many years an wurttemberg officer cord for mine....so i had decided to sell it.
never seen before the third screw....
nice helmet but as said new fees make more difficult any internationnal transaction.

I would really like to see this in my cabinet, but the import and tax are too heavy for this price and I have never seen a 3rd screw, that is also a bit of a stumbling block for me.
