Officer pickelhaube 92Rgt Brunswick

Thank you all for your opinions which have allowed me to form an opinion on this helmet and to avoid buying it because it is for sale at auction.

Unfortunately, an innocent person will get caught... and if there are two of them... the price is likely to be exorbitant!!!

I have another request; I have owned this Officer plate for many years and I would like to know if it is authentic.
Thank you for your answers.

Wow. Feel sorry for the new owner...or not. Everyone should vet an item like this before purchasing

Might you want to sell that brunswick?

Mine is not for sale I’m afraid for love nor money. It was from the late great Karel’s collection, a good friend who is missed and it along with several others at the auction were pretty much the sole reason I ventured back into the hobby after nearly a decade out of it.

Karel was a great guy! I had the privilege to visit him two years before his death and see his extraordinary collection! Unbelievable.

Best wishes,

GardeUlan

Indeed, we shared many correspondences together over the years. He lived not far from my son in Belgium and the first time he picked me up he drove up in a full size red Dodge Ram pickup truck, something that is a common daily driver here in Alberta but you never see in NW Europe. His collection was beyond amazing. One of the best in the world.

He might have picked you up on his HD....

I know I’m a bit late to this discussion, and I can’t say anything authoritative on the TK, but that dodgy name label on the case would had rung enough alarm bells for me! The faker didn’t even bother to scallop the edge of the paper. Twenty minutes with a scalpel and it would have looked less obviously fake once it had a serrated edge.

€6000 is a mighty big learning curve…
